an idea for all the feelings inside my skull. here's an insert from a poem i wrote last night, the idea of the image was in my head when i wrote it:
look upon my face so wrong
cut in two, divided and sided
pulling at my skin, slicing my notions
god, i know i didn't mean for this
your voice, your voice i wanna hear
my voice, it's died inside my head
hide, hide me please, please again
i don't know what to do, i don't
blood drips down my forehead, divided
the thoughts i cannot escape, i served
i served them too well before
bowing and worshipping, i made them life
now they're returning, returning to haunt
to take me away, away from my place
back down to tunnels so deep, infested and pure
god, god, i don't know what to do
hope you like it...
note: the blood was actually applied by putting it on my forehead, under my hairline and i let it drip down my face... i had to move my face to keep it in a straight line and when it got to my nose i had to tilt my head back to keep it in that straight line. it was probably the funnest part of the picture. and it turned out quite nice. i don't think i could have gotten it that nice if i had used a paint brush or anything.
i love how this is such an innocent portrait with great lighting, and then there's the line of blood which takes away all of its innocence. very you. great job.
yeah. I guess. alot of your stuff reminds me of the helplessness of depression and the tormenting inner thoughts...or something like that. sometimes it is hard to look at just the work of art, and not see what it says. Your artwork does depict pain quite often. <----Why it is easier to just say it makes me sad. he he

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.

It makes me think of dissociation... like you're blanking out to others but inside you're bleeding.
A little bit, comes bleeding through...
